Relationship Counseling or Couples Therapy are highly recognized to effectively reconcile or manage differences and repeating patterns of distress in a relationship. It is extremely important to recognize and acknowledge that each person, including the practitioner, has a unique set of values, history, and personality. Most relationships are deemed to experience problems or issues resulting in a less-than-optimal dynamic and maladaptive patterns. These patterns heavily impact the interaction cycles and may be a result of insecurity, ego, attachment, anger, jealousy, greed, miscommunication, and so on.
The duty and primary function of the practitioner is to respect, listen, understand, and facilitate the dialogue and interaction between the parties involved.
